Who We Are?

TeaMiD is a web based portal for microsatelite markers of tea. It has valuable SSR marker information of tea which can be used by breeding community worldwide. It contain information on SSR from different sources. They are: i) Whole genome sequence of Camellia sinensis var. assamica, (Xia et al., 2017: Mol Plant 10: 866-877), ii) Camellia sinensis var. sinensis (Wei et al., 2018: PNAS 1:115), iii) Camellia assamica genome (TV-1 unpublished data), iv) Chloroplast genome based SSR data, v) Mitochondrial genome based SSR data, vi) Publicly available EST and GSS data (till Jan., 2019)., vii) Published paper on tea SSRs (till Jan., 2019). vii) Publicly available RNA-seq based SSR data of 16 different Camellia species. TeaMiD could be mined category wise along with 6 different parameters such as repeat pattern of motif (di- to hexa-nucleotide), genomic locations, sequence of forward and backward primers, annealing temperature etc. Currently, the database contain 930543 SSRs. Primarily, the site is aimed at those who wish to obtain information on tea SSR markers.
