About Us:
This database is developed here at NIPB , New Delhi , India to provide user-friendly view of a large number of de-novo predicted circRNAs in tea. The circRNAs in this database are broadly divided into two categories: those detected from publicly available RNA-seq data of tea and the others ones are detected in RNA-seq data of TV-1 genotype of Indian tea.
There are 59,575 circRNAs detected from publicly available RNA-seq data of tea and 3052 from TV-1 genotype of Indian tea. The circRNAs from publicly available data has both tissue and stress related circRNAs while those from TV-1 genotype are tissue-specific circRNAs. We have provided here the list of circRNAs with all the useful information including genomic coordinates, parental gene id, length, circexon count and coordinates, BSJ read count, classification and tissue-specific expression.
As some of the cirRNAs can act as a sponge for miRNA by enhancing the expression of miRNA target genes, one can use circRNAs to identify markers for associated traits. For example , here with these miRNAs from tea one can accelerate further to understand their association in the aroma formation of tea.
